Sandra Nyanchama
Director
Sandra Nyanchama is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She holds an LL. B (Hons) from Kenyatta University, a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and a Masters Degree in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law from Strathmore University. She also has various leadership, management, and corporate governance certifications.
As Director, she is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Corporate and Legal Affairs department in its function of assisting the University in managing the legal, secretariat, governance, and legislative functions.
Sandra has over ten years experience and brings with her extensive experience in corporate legal management and compliance. She has wide expertise in providing legal advice, administrative, secretarial and governance support, and executing contract cycle management. She has been with Strathmore since 2018, previously serving as the Legal Manager

Nancy Wacera Gathua
Manager
An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Nancy Gathua holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Nairobi University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree at Strathmore University. She has specialized in various areas of the law but has a keen interest in corporate governance, employment law and general legal advisory.
As Manager, she is tasked with managing the operations of the Corporate and Legal Affairs Department and assisting in ensuring that the University’s governance and legal processes and procedures are in line with the University-wide legal compliance obligations and that they are geared towards the provision of sustainable quality university education.
She has extensive experience in legal practice and advice, contract review, legal risk management, compliance and corporate governance. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya

Esther Gaitho
Associate Legal Affairs
An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Esther Gaitho holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She has specialized in various areas of the law but has keen interest in Corporate Governance, Corporate and Commercial law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Contract Management.
At Strathmore University she attends to compliance issues with regard to statutory and regulatory requirements, supports the various University Boards and Affiliates in offering advice and secretarial support, reviews contracts, drafts legal opinions, policy review and development, aids in alternative dispute resolution and various other legal functions of the University. She has over 5 years’ experience in commercial transactional law and litigation. She has previous work experience in Commercial Law firms and has participated in various conferences, workshops and trainings some of which include the Strathmore University Leadership Excellence Acceleration Programme (LEAP) and Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya

Catherine Munene
Associate, Governance & Regulatory
Highly efficient and skilled corporate and commercial Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, a Certified Professional Mediator and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in the University of London. She has specialized in various areas of the law but has a bias in corporate governance.
At Strathmore University she attends to compliance issues with regard to governance and regulatory requirements, supports the various University Boards and its affiliates, offering advice and secretarial support, contract review, and drafts legal opinions. She has over 5 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law. She is a seasoned professional who has worked both in the private and public sector. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.

Duncan Macharia
Associate Legal Affairs
Duncan Ndirangu Macharia is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holding a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law. He has also earned a Certificate in Advanced Negotiations from the Kenya School of Law, Data Protection from Strathmore University and currently pursuing Professional Certification in Certified Secretaries from Strathmore University.
His legal expertise encompasses corporate governance, conveyancing, dispute resolution, policy development and implementation, intellectual property, and legal advisory services.
In his role at Strathmore University, Mr. Macharia provides comprehensive legal support including contract review, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and advising various University Boards with legal counsel and secretarial support. He is proficient in drafting legal documents, opinions, conducting policy reviews and development, and managing a range of other legal functions for the University.

Diana Imali Odemu
Associate Legal Affairs
An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Diana holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a master’s degree in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University London. She has specialized in Litigation, International Dispute Resolution, employment Law and Compliance. At Strathmore University she assists in contract review, attends to compliance issues with regard to statutory and regulatory requirements, supports the various University Departments in offering legal, advice drafting and reviewing agreements, Legal opinions, policy review and development and supports other legal functions of the University. She has over 4 years’ experience in civil and commercial transaction, alternative dispute resolution and litigation. She has worked in commercial and litigation firms
She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch and Mediation Training Institute

Charity Ouma
Legal Assistant
Charity Ouma is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a certified mediator. She holds an LL. B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi and a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds a Data Protection certificate from the Strathmore University.
At Strathmore, Charity serves as a legal assistant in the Corporate Office providing services in matters relating to Corporate, Governance and Legal Affairs within the University. Her mandate includes reviewing and drafting contracts within strict timelines, ensuring compliance with legal policies, and liaising with courts and government agencies for effective case management.
She brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at Commercial Law firms, complemented by her commitment to Community Social Responsibility through her work in numerous legal aid clinics. The budding advocate holds particular interest in Technology Law and International Law stemming from active participation in various international moot court competitions and has well-honed legal research and writing skills evidenced in various scholarly articles.
